Can you actually believe that it has come to the end of another year?! This year has definitely been a test in many ways, but it has also given me some amazing opportunities. That is why i wanted to do a wonderful 2021 round up. This year has taught me a lot about myself and also where i want to take the business too. It’s important to do what you really love and I’m so grateful that the opportunities this year.
It’s absolutely no secret that i love a lot of different things. I have considered several different avenues to take To be Revealed in. There will forever be one thing that always overtakes the others though. It has been something brewing for a while. I won’t say too much of the exact changes just yet but 2022 will bring the floral side to the very forefront of the business. I am beyond excited to show you what is to come…But for now take a look at some of my 2021 highlights….
Real Weddings
After the absolute craziness of 2020, It was amazing to be finally back doing real weddings and getting to be a part of peoples special day. It honestly is such an amazing feeling to see people’s visions come to life after spending so long discussing them. I don’t know about you but seeing people being able to hug and get on the dance floor has been an amazing part of the year.
I’ve been across the country at several different weddings this year. They have all had different vibes and completely different locations but what i have loved is the uniqueness. My couples have just been themselves through an through and it is the BEST thing to see. There has been pastel tones, bright reds and pinks and deep and rich greens this year. With each one has been a joy to set up and style.
I had my last wedding only this week and it was an joyous one! It was also my last wedding doing set up, styling and coordination. I can say that i will no longer be offering this service in 2022. So to all of my 2021 couples – thank you so much for choosing me and having me be a part of your days.
Brand Shoots
Back in the middle of the year, after what felt like a long time of not being able to actually go out to work, i got asked to be a floral stylist for luxury bathing brand Grace Cole. It was a small shoot to re shoot new imagery for their branding and products. I’ve always loved doing brand shoots and working on campaigns so i jumped at the chance to do this one.
I have more brand shoots coming up in 2022 which is really exciting. I love working with products and making them look amazing with floral styling. This shoot definitely re sparked my passion for this type of work.
Actual in person events
I have been lucky enough to work for the fabulous Magpie Wedding for almost a year now and in Autumn 2021 we finally managed to have our in person wedding show events! It felt like a long time coming but it was so worth the wait when we eventually got there. I got to organise and manage the Manchester show at the very wonderful Victoria Baths and it was such an incredible day. Being able to see fellow industry friends, meet new people and actually just be at an event like that felt so lovely. To see people coming together to enjoy themselves and feel like they can plan their weddings or continue with their businesses.
I am back in 2022 with two shows at Leftbank, Leeds and back at Victoria Baths in Manchester in March 2022 and i can’t wait. I have some big plans for the shows and just want to create a beautiful atmosphere for everyone there. Plus, it will be a great opportunity to showcase the changes to my own business too!
There are honestly some amazing highlights for this year….Not only what i’ve mentioned above but also just the new people i have met and connected with, how i have grown and developed, the features i have had and the PR mentions (Sheerluxe being my big moment!).
I’m leaving 2021 with a smile that i got through and heading into 2022 with a renewed enthusiasm and love for what i do and where i am intending to go. So i wanted to leave this wonderful 2021 round up here.
